Aarron Wayne Kelsey, age 20 was taken into custody on Wednesday by DA's investigators in Durant. Kelsey, convicted of burglarizing Hill top pawn in Bryan County, was ordered last July to pay more than $14,000 in restitution to the victims. To date, Kelsey has avoided paying any of the restitution ordered. The DA's office is seeking to accelerate his 5 year deferred prison sentence. The district attorneys office credited assistance from Grayson County DA's office and the Denison Police Department in facilitating Kelsey's arrest.
All three offenders are scheduled to appear in District Court for disposition of their cases.
DA's Investigators want to remind business people to be vigilant when taking checks during the holiday season. Remember to check ID's and get home and work phone numbers from check writers. Checking ID protects both businesses and consumers alike, from fraudulent check writers.
